Mark Wolpert - Maxwell Football Club - PODCAST EXCLUSIVE

Updated: Apr 17, 2019

The Maxwell Football Club is an organization involved not only in football at all levels but in the community in general, not just once a year, but all year. It’s an organization dedicated to the concept that young people are the potential of this nation. The historic organization of 81 years wants to help young people realize that potential as leaders now, and as the future leaders of this country.

Executive Director Mark Wolpert joined us recently to discuss the rich history of the Maxwell Football Club, its weekend gala each year in Atlantic City and also his involvement as president of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA).

Take a listen to our conversation on the Soundcloud link below, on our website or subscribe to the free Wuerffel Trophy Podcast on iTunes.

Why was the Wuerffel Trophy created?  We felt that there was a void in major college football awards. Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel put it best when he wrote, “The Wuerffel. It’s about time. There’s an award for the best quarterback, best running back, wide receiver, best linebacker, best center and even best kicker and punter. Why not one for the best human being?”
