Hey Everyone,

It’s hard to believe this is our 15th year. Thank you so much for all that you do to make the Wuerffel Trophy special.

Just a reminder on voting, we ask when you cast your ballot for these special young men, that you make sure to put the most weight on their community service. While we do take into consideration their on-field performance and their academic achievements, there are other awards that focus on those aspects of their resumes. Please consider the following as a guideline to help in your evaluation and voting:

*50% or greater on based community service

*25% or less on athletics

*25% or less on academics.

Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving.

Why was the Wuerffel Trophy created?  We felt that there was a void in major college football awards. Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel put it best when he wrote, “The Wuerffel. It’s about time. There’s an award for the best quarterback, best running back, wide receiver, best linebacker, best center and even best kicker and punter. Why not one for the best human being?”
