We extend a warm welcome to Jon Wassink, our 2019 Wuerffel Trophy Recipient, his family, and his friends.  Our base of operations is the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.  We hope you enjoy your time with us on Florida's Emerald Coast

Thursday, February 6 
  • 12:00 pm – Golf Outing - Raven Golf Course, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.  Casual lunch at the Raven Clubhouse patio, Shotgun Start at 12:30 pm.  The format is a 4 player scramble.

  • 6:00 pm – Welcome Reception and Dinner -  Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort honoring our sponsors, guests, and Wuerffel Trophy recipients and their families.  Dinner follows at 7:00 pm.  The location is Azalea Ballroom at Baytowne Conference Center at Sandestin.  Dress:  Business Casual.


Friday, February 7

  • 7:30 am - FCA Breakfast –  The Arena at Northwest Florida State College, Niceville, FL – Speaker: 2014 Wuerffel Trophy Recipient, Deterrian "D.T." Shackelford.  Dress:  Very Casual

    • Jon Wassink and Danny Wuerffel, please arrive at 7:00 am.

    • Ticket or lanyard is required for entry

  • 3:15 pm – Media Interviews (Jon and family and Danny) The Island Hotel, Okaloosa Island. Dress:  Business Casual (Jon - Coat and Tie for this and remainder of the day).

  • 4:00 pm – VIP Reception - The Island Hotel, Okaloosa Island.

    • Strongly suggest that you please park at the Emerald Coast Convention Center and take the free shuttles to and from the VIP Reception.

    • Your lanyard will be your entry ticket to the VIP Reception.

  • 5:30 pm - Doors open at 51st Annual All Sports Awards Dinner - Dinner served at 6:30 pm - Emerald Coast Convention Center, Okaloosa Island – Keynote Speaker: Bo Jackson

    • A banquet ticket is required for entry​!


Why was the Wuerffel Trophy created?  We felt that there was a void in major college football awards. Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel put it best when he wrote, “The Wuerffel. It’s about time. There’s an award for the best quarterback, best running back, wide receiver, best linebacker, best center and even best kicker and punter. Why not one for the best human being?”
