Co-SIDA Academic All-American Induction Ceremony – An “Oh My” Evening!

Co-SIDA guest Betty Brassell with 2015 Academic All-America Hall of Fame Inductee Shane Battier.

As ESPN’s Rece Davis said when he opened the evening as emcee, being around these people can certainly humble you a bit.

Not only the small school football player who is now an Orthopedic Surgeon or the US women’s hockey player from Harvard with 3 Olympic teams and 1 gold medal to her credit.

Or the basketball player from DePauw with over 40 years of public service, the Heisman trophy winning quarterback or the NBA veteran from Duke.

It was the entire room.  Past Dick Enberg winner Ann Myers-Drysdale sitting right behind us, and Dick Enberg himself sitting to our right.  Greatness in the round.

Many thanks to Co-SIDA’s Doug Vance for inviting us to be a part of the evening and High Point University’s Mark LaFrance for being our escort.

It certainly was a night to remember!

“Oh My” indeed.
